It is particularly well suited to human body scanning, medical and healthcare applications, prosthetics and orthotics, as well as users taking their first steps into professional 3D data capture. Its straightforward workflow makes it easier to begin scanning quickly without introducing unnecessary complexity.
For organisations primarily interested in body scanning, digital archiving, creative projects or producing mesh files, the MQ may provide everything required. When scanning dark, shiny or reflective components, scanning spray will generally help the MQ achieve the best results; users who regularly work with these surfaces may benefit from moving up to one of the blue laser models.
Professional Bundle: 3DeVOK MT
The Professional Bundle is built around the 3DeVOK MT and provides greater flexibility across a wider variety of scanning applications.
Its blue laser technology makes it better suited to dark, shiny and reflective surfaces, often with less reliance on scanning spray. This makes the MT a strong all-round choice for reverse engineering, product development, automotive applications and general professional scanning.
The MT sits at the centre of the range for good reason. It offers a step up in accuracy and material adaptability while remaining practical and approachable for businesses introducing 3D scanning into their existing workflow. For users who need to move between different types of components and surfaces, it provides an effective balance of capability and value.
Elite Bundle: 3DeVOK MT Gen2
The Elite Bundle features the 3DeVOK MT Gen2, the most advanced and capable scanner in the range.
With its expanded blue laser scanning modes, enhanced accuracy and finer detail capture, the MT Gen2 is designed for more demanding reverse engineering and industrial design applications. It is particularly well suited to complex geometries, challenging materials, intricate components and workflows where scanning requirements are likely to become more advanced over time.
For businesses that expect 3D scanning to become a regular or central part of their operation, the MT Gen2 provides the greatest flexibility and room for future growth. It is the strongest option in the range for advanced reverse engineering, automotive customisation and other professional applications where a no-compromise scanning setup is required.
What do you need to do after the scan?
Choosing the scanner is the first step. The next question is what you need to do with the data it captures.
A 3D scanner will typically produce a mesh file, such as an STL. This may be all you need for visualisation, digital archiving, body scanning, certain 3D printing applications or a workflow where suitable CAD or reverse engineering software is already in place.
However, a mesh is not the same as an editable CAD model. If you need to recreate a component, restore missing geometry, make design changes or prepare the part for manufacturing, you will usually need dedicated reverse engineering software to bridge the gap between the scan and your CAD system.
Each of our 3DeVOK scanner bundles is therefore available with three software routes:
- A scanner-only package for users who only need mesh data or already have an established software workflow.
- A one-year QuickSurface licence, offering a lower initial investment and a practical way to introduce scan-to-CAD capabilities.
- A permanent QuickSurface licence for businesses that expect reverse engineering to form a regular part of their workflow and want long-term access without ongoing subscription costs.
QuickSurface provides dedicated tools for turning scan data into cleaner, more usable geometry, helping users move from a physical object to an editable CAD model through a more structured and manageable process.
Where does 3DeVOK fit?
The 3DeVOK range offers an accessible and cost-effective solution for reverse engineering, product development, human body scanning, digital archiving, creative applications and general 3D data capture.
It is important to be clear that 3DeVOK is not a metrology-grade scanning system in the strict sense of the term. If your application requires certified, traceable inspection data to recognised metrology standards, a dedicated metrology solution will be more appropriate.
For users who do not require that level of traceability, however, 3DeVOK provides an excellent balance of accuracy, flexibility and ease of use—without the additional cost and complexity associated with a fully metrology-grade system.
