Advanced Engineering UK was back this year with T3DMC in attendance!

The T3DMC team were excited to welcome customers old and new at this year’s Advanced Engineering trade show at the NEC, from the 3rd to the 4th of November. Our engineers and support staff demonstrated the new range of 3D portable scanners from ScanTech: SIMSCAN 30, KSCAN Magic, TrackScan P42 and iReal 2E. Alongside this was the presentation of developments in the associated software which make these easy to use yet extremely powerful 3D scanning tools. The T3DMC team also promoted the AESUB range of scanning sprays including the innovative evaporating versions and free samples were provided to demonstrate their effectiveness in practice.
The brand new SIMSCAN 30 is the fastest, smallest and lightest 3D scanning system on the market weighing only 570g and measuring just over 200 millimetres in height. SIMSCAN can capture areas of 410 by 400mm at a rate of over 2,000,000 measurements per second. The system itself is manufactured using aerospace grade aluminium which makes this 3D scanner very robust, whilst also being very comfortable to hold. The small size of this scanner allows it to get into areas that other 3D scanners simply cannot, allowing operators to capture 3D scan data in areas they were previously unable to do so.

Another key system on show at Advanced Engineering was the TrackScan P42, which can capture accurate and highly detailed data without the use of reference markers. The P42 is the fastest 3D scanner in its class, boasting 1.9 million measurements per second. This combined with a large measurement volume of up to 16.5M³, and dual measurement volumes for small and large parts makes the P42 an extremely versatile and capable measurement system.
But without question, the star of the show was KSCAN Magic 3D scanner; arguably the most versatile 3D scanning system in the world. Packed with 41 laser lines across five measurement modes, it delivers rapid scanning speeds of up to 1.6 million measurements per second and thanks to the use of blue laser technology, precision is greatly improved. KSCAN Magic also includes built-in photogrammetry into the handheld device for increased accuracy over large parts – making this the ultimate scanning machine for versatility, adaptability and performance.

The ease of use of the KSCAN Magic attracted the attention of show organisers, and our Managing Director Adam Stanley gave an exclusive video interview about the capabilities of this new range. In addition, journalists from Components in Manufacturing and Aerospace Manufacturing magazines were keen to learn more about our latest offering to the world of 3D scanning – so stay tuned for their features.
“Advanced Engineering was an absolute success for us and the products on show were extremely well-received”, explained Adam Stanley, Managing Director at T3DMC.
“The response we’ve had whilst demonstrating the SIMSCAN, TrackScan and KSCAN Magic shows there is a gap in the market for such handheld systems that are versatile and user-friendly but also cost-effective, and we’re proud to be offering them on behalf of ScanTech to the British market as exclusive distributors”.
